Seven Steps
The quality of a lighting installation is determined not by the fixtures chosen, but by the thinking that preceded them.
Our process is not a series of transactional milestones — it is a continuous conversation between designer, homeowner, and property. Every step exists to bring the final result closer to what was imagined at the first evening walkthrough.
The Process
Seven Steps to Extraordinary
Discovery & Site Walk
Every project begins with a private evening walkthrough of your property. We observe the natural movement of shadows, the relationship between your home's architecture and its landscape, the sightlines from interior rooms, and the circulation paths your family actually uses. This is not a sales call — it is a design conversation, conducted where the design will live.

Design Direction
Following discovery, our design team develops a conceptual lighting direction — a written and visual document describing the atmosphere to be created, the primary focal points to be established, the scene programming philosophy, and the overall aesthetic approach. This direction is shared with you for review and alignment before any technical planning begins.
3–5 Days
Photometric Planning
With design direction confirmed, we produce a full photometric lighting plan — a precise technical document specifying every fixture position, beam angle, wattage, color temperature, and control zone. This plan is produced at a professional standard, compatible with architectural drawings and contractor documentation, and becomes the authoritative reference for all that follows.
1–2 Weeks
Fixture Selection
Every fixture is selected with intention — evaluated for its specific application, the quality of its light output, its durability in Texas's climate, and its visual character when seen by day. We present a curated fixture plan for your review, including manufacturer specifications and, where relevant, installed samples for evaluation.

Installation Coordination
Our installation team coordinates directly with your landscape contractor, irrigation specialist, general contractor, and any other trades with which our work intersects. Conduit is routed, junction points established, and transformer locations confirmed — all before the first fixture is placed. Installation is performed with the precision and care of finish carpentry.

Nighttime Reveal
The evening of reveal is the moment our entire process has been building toward. We walk the property with you after dark — adjusting beam angles by hand, refining intensity levels, programming the final scene structure, and ensuring that every element responds exactly as designed. Most clients describe this evening as transformative. We agree.

Ongoing Care
The relationship does not end at reveal. Great outdoor lighting endures when it is properly maintained — adjusted for seasonal landscape changes, serviced as fixtures age, and refined as the property evolves. Our annual maintenance programs ensure that your installation continues to perform at the standard of its first evening for years to come.

The Principles That Guide Every Project
No Improvisation
Every decision is made before installation begins. Our photometric plan eliminates field improvisation — the single greatest source of compromise in outdoor lighting installations.
Evening Review
We do not finalize a lighting installation without reviewing it at night. Every beam angle, every intensity level, and every scene is confirmed under the conditions it was designed for.
Concealed Installation
All conduit is buried. All junction points are waterproofed and concealed. Every fixture is positioned so that the source is hidden from normal viewing angles — leaving only the light itself visible.
Climate Specification
Every component — fixture, driver, transformer, and conduit — is specified for sustained performance in Texas's heat, humidity, and storm conditions. Nothing we install is designed for seasonal use.
Documentation
Every installation is documented: a full record of fixture locations, settings, and programming is maintained and provided to the homeowner — ensuring that any future service or expansion begins from a complete baseline.
Long-Term Partnership
We design for the long term — specifying systems that can expand as the property evolves and maintaining relationships with our clients for years after the initial installation.
The nighttime reveal is the moment we live for. Walking a property with a client after dark — watching the landscape come alive as we've always known it could — is why this work matters.
